About
Crossing Paths Animal Rescue was begun in 2006 by concerned men and women in Blount County, Alabama, distressed over the high numbers of homeless and abandoned animals in our county. We are a small group of volunteers who work to find good, loving 'forever' homes for as many homeless dogs as we can. The dogs that we work with are abandoned and have very little hope of rescue. The local shelter is considered a "high kill" shelter. Our main facility with kennels is located in Blount County, Alabama, plus we have some foster homes in Blount and Jefferson Counties, families who are willing to give these dogs a temporary home until a permanent one is found. We want to do more, save more, but our facilities, personnel, and of course, financial resources are limited. Every day is a challenge as we struggle with veterinary bills, food bills and volunteers with too much to do and too little time to do it in. Time counts with these animals as many are under a 7-day limit at the shelter. If a home is not found for them, they are killed to make room for other animals. |
