Happy is a 1- or 2-year-old Pit mix who weighs 55 pounds and is both house- and crate-trained. One day, he wandered into his present owner's yard with a padlock on his collar, which probably means that he spent the early part of his life chained with little or no interaction with other dogs or humans. The family took him in, but found that he was just too much for them to handle. Happy has made great progress with his present family, but they don't feel that they can provide him with everything he needs. He is definitely a dog with potential, but he needs a more experienced owner who can help him reach his potential. He's a sweet boy who deserves the kind of life that only that special and experienced person can give him. Happy sure is energetic and needs lots of exercise. His family takes him on 4-5 walks a day! He has problems with other dogs, so he is muzzled for each walk. He should be the only pet in the home. He's nervous around children, so there should be none in the household. However, Happy warms up to people quickly, absolutely adores them, and readily shows his Happy-ness! He is very intelligent as evidenced by the commands he already knows and his eagerness to learn new ones. We hope that you will take him into your home and show him what Happy-ness truly is!
