We are not a shelter. Our dogs are in a network of foster homes in and around Blount County, Alabama which are private residences and, therefore, not open to the public. Unless you are within driving distance of Blount County, you must be comfortable adopting a dog without a prior face-to-face meeting.
The first step in the adoption process is to file an application here. List any dogs in which you are interested in order of preference. Keep in mind that we often receive many applications as soon as a dog is posted so check back regularly; we update often.
You will be contacted by Vickie or Patricia when they have made a decision on your application and this could be anywhere from a day to 2 weeks so be patient, they'll let you know either way. If your application is approved, they will put you in touch with the dog's foster mom/dad to whom you may pose any questions you have, and so that the foster may get a feel for whether the dog will be a good fit in your household. If everyone comes through that feeling good , we will then proceed to finalize the adoption and arrange transport, if necessary.
Our transport goes as far north as Newtown, PA with stops in Hagarstown MD and other points along the way. We have transports every three weeks.
